For me the most challenging things is triying to communicate since i dont have viewer's
good to know
I have a friend that’s very similar to this guy, right on, you’re beast
And here I thought plenty of water and sunlight would do the trick but chat keeps saying all they see is water and a blinding light.
I recently became affiliate on twitch and just came across this. I don’t know why I never saw this sooner. But thank you for the info, now I know what to do. I personally thank you Max with all my heart 💙
💘
Someone: The perfect advice doesn't exist
Max :
👍
I just started doing retro console stuff and my advice is to use emulation instead of capture cards if you’re doing 8-bit/16-bit era stuff. I’d only suggest a capture card for Dreamcast through Wii era or Nintendo Switch, and use built-in streaming on other modern consoles, at least starting out. Capture cards can be quite an expense and apparently burn out quickly, Mike Matei says he keeps a whole closet full of them.
Thanks for this max
play the games you like. but if also trying to garner views you have to note something.
if say new to almost not a single view and want to play say… god of war ragnarok. good luck with that cause you wont get noticed. why? cause the big dog streamers (looks at max) will be playing it and will be at the top of the list of views. even if you do videos the ones to be focused is of course well known youtuber videos. basically its near impossible unless god blesses you with fortune to get noticed.
thats why avoid the big title releases since the big dogs will sniff it out and gather around it and push aside/step on the small dogs trying to get to it. your go to games are indie games or multiplayer games. why?
indies: most are cheap and depending on popularity and replay it could be in your favor. most indie popularity last for 2-8 weeks. most big dog streamers stay for like 2-4 weeks and run off to the game they know or next big title. if indie have replay value and dedicated fans there is your window. play often enough and if ppl interested and see you streaming it then they may come by, see where you at or doing and maybe stay. on videos side yes the big dogs depending on if they upload vods will get noticed first but again if the game have replay value with things changing then viewers wanna see how other ppl go through it be big or small. theres your window.
mutliplayer: this varies since big and small dogs will play it depending on how popular it is. it is a gamble since you are competing to get noticed. so unless you get real damn good or make known clips that many ppl watch then most will not watch you unless you can impress them and slowly build from there.
As somebody who has and continues to treat YouTube like a job despite it not being one, this video really spoke to me and helped me out. I think it's far too easy to forget that early on, we're all out here doing this for fun, and when we tunnel-vision in on the numbers, and we start to spend a lot of money on upgraded equipment we don't truly need yet, we lose sight of the things that truly help you grow, like getting comfortable behind a mic, and focusing on making content that you enjoy.
Thanks for the video, Max! I upload music reviews here on YouTube, but I also recently started streaming because I just really enjoy playing video games and talking about them with people. I think you really hit the nail on the head: it's hard starting out because there's no one to bounce off of when you have little to no viewers. I'm pretty decent at talking to myself and filling the space, but actually getting noticed on Twitch is tough. I've had a few people stop by and follow, which makes me happy and I like seeing them in chat, but Twitch seems to not promote small streamers very well. I've had some success with uploading the VODs on YouTube for people who don't like live content as well, which might help anyone else struggling. Still, we're in it for the long haul, so thanks for the encouragement!!
This video was golden 💯 along with the sonic R sound track that hit me bad with the memories 😎
Thank you Max… thanks for this video Forreal
When are you making „How to grow Weed“?
Woah you have so many followers now since we hung out last.
I definitely appreciate the advice. I have never done a stream but like to post videos on Mortal Kombat or Resident Evil or some older game. I always enjoy watching YouTubers or twitch streamer who are honest and are real. Thank you for this video.
Hey max. How did you do your intro video. It's super cool and it's inspired me to do one. I just don't know where to start.
I guess I've been doing it right for 8 years. I just like talking to people. The problem is my interests are so fucking niche that I can't find an audience besides the other blind people who enjoy me personally and the OCCASSIONAL genre fan who finds me through the game but never sticks around.
Honestly, that's all it is. I'm a cripple. Cripple time dies slowly. I like shooting the shit with people while I game.
Edit: Describing games to the blind helped me talk more by a lot. God that was a huge hurdle. Also having a dog helps. I can't help but talk to that fucker. 😛
This is why Max is in my 3 channels of "Watch Every Video they upload". He truly cares about seeing ppl grow and succeed. Thank you, Max.
I will be honest with you that I am still trying my best to do streaming even when my hours are out of sync. But I do love to do streaming. Issue I am facing is that I can't find the right community or help whenever I stream via Twitch.
Still thanks for the advise on it. I may not have the best equipment and still trying to make my audience enjoy the games I'm streaming besides streaming the main stream games but I am still trying.
This is exactly why I love you this is all I strive for as an small streamer I try to do whatever I can to make the time with a full time job and a 2 year old
Here I was trying to grow an audience with good soil and regular watering. Fuck me I've been doing it wrong.
Thank you.
